WELCOME to ♥HRUDAYAM♥ Art Gallery
My passionate Journey into the ARTS Universe..
"HRUDAYAM" means "HEART" in Sanskrit and Telugu (my mother tongue)
Growing up in India's quaint villages and bustling towns, I was exposed to a riot of colors, beauty, and creativity. My Mom was my first inspiration into the artistic world with her gorgeous sarees of various designs and textures, her intricate jewelry, and her deities' arrangements in our puja (prayer) room. My late father acquired fragrant sandalwood statues, taxidermy, and Nirmal paintings in our childhood home in Kakinada, A.P, India (some of which I inherited after his passing). His vast library took me into a fascinating world, as a curious child even before the birth of the internet, where I marveled at the secrets hidden within those covers that included Photography, Sculpture, Islamic art, Textiles, and Rajasthani paintings. It indeed was a magical world for me!
This passion grew while in Gudivada at my grandparents' home with their beautifully carved furniture, ivory inlay doors, mosaic floors, my grandmother's pure gold-threaded Kanchipuram silk sarees, and the Devudi gadhi (God's room) filled with a hundred statues and prints of the holy deities in every color, bhangima, and mudra. My adventurous visits into the cluster of weavers' huts beside our home took me into a world of handlooms woven and hung to dry, dyed with natural vegetable pigments that I got to dip my fingers in. What a colorful Childhood it was!
Destiny brought me to New York City in 1996 for my higher education in Technology, and a stable financial industry job later allowed me to pursue my passion for collecting and building up my own beautiful, authentic art collection from across the world through Estates, Fleas, Personal Contacts, Online/Social media sites, and Auction houses.
Hrudayam Arts was born out of my sheer love and passion for the arts, with a name that resonates with "HEART" in Sanskrit/Telugu, with a purpose to Share, Educate, and bring WONDER and JOY into the LIVES of others with Art. Finding a loving home for each of my precious finds, with a story to tell for each, is an adventure I cherish.
Thank You for stepping into my World and being a part of my Journey.. - Aravind Mallipudi
